The secret Treehotel at the end of the road

As the darkness sets over the winter wonderland that is Dalarna we start to google for a hotel to stay the night. When we stumble upon the treehotel Nästes Markusgården we just know we have to drive the extra miles to stay there.

In 2014 Mireille and Willem decided to break their rutin and leave the Neatherlands to start a B&B at a remote farm in the deep forests of Dalarna. The farmhouse, today transformed to a beautiful B&B, was first erected in 1910.  But its in the nearby forest that the real adventure begins. High up in between the trees a red globe floats in mid air. The “Supermoon” is a one of a kind tree hut hotel. From here you have a chance to see a moose grazing under your hut or watch the squirrels as they climb a branch just outside the window. In the evening you look right through the dome window into the starry sky. If your lucky you just might catch the northern lights.

Näsets Markusgården is situated in the outskirt of the small and picturesque village Näset.

The supermoon.

A room with a view.

Afraid of heights? No problem! If you prefer you can stay on the ground in this hobbit-like hut.
